2006 chrysler 300 v6 2.7 L l have a bad water leak its coming from a piece in the front of the engine it looks like a thermostat housing however when l removed the piece in question there was no thermostat. the piece is square shaped made of two plastic pieces heat sealed with a gasket in the middle the gasket is very worn out and the whole piece needs to be replaced l have been to the auto parts store and just like me they think its a thermostat housing l need the name of the piece so l can find and order the piece my vehicle is out of warranty

l am sorry l do not know ur answer. l just wanted to say that l have a 2006 Dodge Magnum with the same engine as yours. l fear that l now have one more problem to look forward to. l am just curious is this the only problem u have had? Right now l have a faulty oil pressure sensor, l have had the brakes worked on multiple times because they kept dragging, bad enough to were Chrysler simply does not know what it is but because l bought the car used l am screwed. It has had several sensors go bad & need replaced. Like l said just one more problem to look forward to. l do have a Chilton is book. It is way back in the barn right now though & it is closing in on midnight. If u can wait till the morning l can look it up & send u an answer then.

l would take it back and complain to the dealership that a three year old car should not be leaking. If you are under 36,000 miles, it is covered under the warranty. Even if it is not covered, you should call the regional manager of Chrysler and try and get them to fix it for free.

You have an extremely reliable car. Just take it back to the dealership and get it fixed under warranty.
