How hard is it to change the steering column on a 1987 dodge dakota? ?

for an average person it takes about 3 hours to do this,you have to drop the column down,first u start by taking off the battery cable then removing the coupler that holds it to the steering unit,then go back inside & remove the wiring harness from it,the main thing on doing this if ur not real sure about is make notes on things its pretty strait forward as far as the column coming out ,you also need to unbolt it from the fire wall,once its down it does not take that long to remove it,but it works a lot better if u got another person helping you,its sort f hard to get it through the firewall & guide it out at the same time,other than that its not a bad job, just make sure the wires u disconnect do not get hung up on anything while ur removing the column,the rest is reversal of this to install it back in,it can be done real easy in 3 hours or less, it might help u to pick up a good repair manual on it also,it never hurts to have one around just in case,good luck.
