My Intrepid has 2 major problems.

1. my steering wheel is very loose feeling and l have to hold it sideways to go straight.

2.When l try to accelerate, my rpm meter goes up as if my car should speed up, but my car just idles for a while like its going to break down and the engine revs, and then kicks in very late. Also a noise almost like an RC car or treadmill comes out of my engine when driving.

1. Power steering pump is probably gone.
2. Your transmission is shot. Go get a new one. Or have the one you have, rebuilt. l had the same problem with one of my cars. Should cost around $3,000, if you have it done properly.

Your steering wheel column is going out and the transmission is about to go. As far as the noise coming your engine l am not sure what that is.

on the steering column problem it sound like it needs to be replaced or u may have some part of the steering that is going bad,and on the other problem it sounds like the transmission may be slipping on it,if u keep driving it like this though u may tear the transmission out of it ,id have a transmission shop test drive it they do this for free then you,ll know what might be causing that too happen,and on the engine that could be the timing chain making that noise.you need to have this one checked though,good luck.
