check the fluid in it first,this may be the torque converter causing that to happen,other wise it may need to be checked by a transmission shop dodge transmissions did give some problems,so l would not take any chances on doing any damage to it,most transmission shops will test drive one for free and give you their opinion on it,that is better than having it go out,good luck with it.
