Just drove an '06 Dodge Dakota off the lot this morning. I am happy about everything except for the fact that l can not hear the engine. I've looked at a few exhausts, however, its not worth it if it will void the warranty which still has a good 20,000 miles left on it,. Anyone heard of exhaust systems voiding warranties?

l do not think that it would. But, to be safe, you should call the dealer you bought it from or the warranty company and ask them.

Your exhaust is no longer under the 5/70 power train warrenty.
So it do not matter what you put on it. It will not void your power train warrenty because your not modifeing the engine.
If it was mine I'd go with headers and cat back duel. You will pick up about 30 HP and get another 5 miles to the gallon of gas.

from the catalytic converter rearward you're safe to add a performance system. altering the converter or anything ahead of the converter is a BIG grey area.

No, not if you just put a muffler on there. That is fine. But if you put headers on there they will void your warranty. l have never had headers on my Ram before but l had an aftermarket muffler and they never cared. A friend of mine had a Ford F250 V10 and he put headers on his truck and they voided his powertrain warranty. l am guessing Dodge would do the same.

Yes, it will void the warranty, call the dealer and make sure though but l am pretty sure, because that is consider a modification. So l would wait or even call Chrysler.

No it will. l used to have an 04 Ram 5.7L. l had headers high flow cats and flowmasters. l took it in because one of my fuel injectors was messed up and they fixed it for free because it was still under warranty.

No just simply adding an exhaust will not void your warranty. Look up something called the magnuson moss act.
