Water pump. A drip on the edge of the pump or drip on the ground. Serious concern on which one?

Anytime you see coolant leaking from a water pump it is time to replace it. The sooner the better.

any water pump leak can be fatal to an engine, replace asap

The dirp or a puddle of coolant on the ground. usually means that the water pump has to be replaced.

Once the water pump starts to drip at all, it often fails quickly and with out any more warning. A failed water pump can quickly damage your engine, so it is usually better to replace it sooner rather than later.

if its starting to drip coolant from it and it is not a gasket you need to replace it ,they do not last to long once they start to leak,you can look at it and tell where the leak is coming from,i have seen a few on occasion that was leaking from the gasket where somone had replaced them and not got a good seal back on it,but most of the time your looking at repalcing the water pump,depending on what its on it can be a big job to do,good luck.
