Last night l got in my truck and went to start it. It will not start while in Park, however if l put it into Neutral and try to start it it starts. Any ideas what could be causing this? l was thinking Transmission or Linkage

It could possibly be something called a ''neutral/starter relay'' try to investigate that. It may be bad or disconnected.

Has this just happened once, or is it an ongoing thing? l know it sounds stupid, but l pulled into our garage and was mad and just turned the key off while still in Drive. Next day, l realized what l did and it did start after moving it in P and some fiddling. l know it sounds dumb, but it happened. Just a thought. If it happens ALL the time, then you probably have trouble. If it is just this one time, maybe you did the same thing.

you need to replace the neutral safety switch on that one,when they go out the only gear they will start in is neutral,repalce that and that will fix your problem,good luck

they had some problems with the shifter linkage bolts breaking off in the frame, under the drivers side floor board.
