Finally found a picture of my leaking cover on Autozone (using advice)
It is labeled 41TE Transaxle. It is a big, easy to get to cover with ten bolts on the end of the engine. Can l take it off and replace it without anything falling out or falling apart? The cover is dented and rusted and is leaking a little. l will replace the gasket also. It is for a 2002 Dodge Gran Caravan 3.8 liter engine. Not the big cover on the bottom, but the cover that is mounted vertically, drivers side.

well sure if you can get to it and it looks easy then it wil be no problems theres nothing that jumps out of any motor just remove it and you wil be fine l drive the same type Caravan id check and see if the bolts are loose and dont over tighten them it dont take much more than a light touch to tighten

the only thing that you,ll loose will be a little fluid and that is all,those covers was bad to rust out especially when exposed to bad elements,but noting will jump out at you or fall out unless you take it loose once the pan is off,all you need to do is clean the surface real good and replace it,and tighten all the bolts evenly ,you wont loose anything on it,good luck.
