changed coil- still not firing.just got new module before this happened.have checkedballist resistor.made sure #1is in correct place on dist cap.made sure it is on compression stroke.#1 wire was up top 10 o'clock and WAS firing before.what to do?

try grounding the coil,make sure there is a bare spot on the bracket that will make it touch ground when the clamp is tightened up on it,sometimes that will make them get hot like that,other than that the only thing that will make them heat up is they are bad or are getting too much voltage,i own a 72 model with big block in it and my coil on it wil get warm but not hot,good luck.
