l have a positive differential axel that needs to be installed. l like to do my own work on my car. Any directions

You need a jack,

You will most likely need some special tools

Impact wrench & air compressor
or
oxy acetylene torch
or
very big arms to remove the u-bolts on the original axle. l suggest u use NEW u-bolts for install.

one set of jack stands

one floor jack

and Assorted wrenches & sockets.

You will need jack stands to support the frame rails of vehicle.


You should first raise & support vehicle. Step two dis-connect brake lines & park brake cable. Step three dis-connect drive shaft. Step four dis-connect shock absorbers. Step five remove the u-bolts & lower axle from undercarriage. Re-assembly is reversed.

This is a one man job & not really hard to do but caution suggests have a friend sitting nearby in case u need help.
