Is the fuel pump under the back seat or is it in the trunk? The electric line goes down through the floor of the back seat to a dome cap, but I've heard that it is in the trunk by one source. I am not really sure whether or not to believe that. It'd be nice to know by tomorrow is repair.

l cant say 100%, but l believe it is in the fuel tank itself. My friend had an intrepid about that year, and thats where the fuel pump was on it.

Theres a cover in the trunk that you take off to access the fuel pump in the top of the gas tank. Consider yourself lucky most pumps reguire you to remove the tank to get to it.

you can access it through the back seat area just be sure and clean the dirt from around it before you remove it,but you can get it out through that area,disconnect the battery cable though before you start this job,good luck.
