Does anyone know how to replace a headlight switch on a Dodge Ram Truck from 97?

is it a 3500? if so, there is a headlamp switch recall.recall #819. call a local dealer and see if you have any open recalls by your vin#.

ur whole dash panel surround pops off. flip up u power receptacle door & remove the screw & l believe that is the only one. some do not even have that. it may feel like it wont come off at first but take a flat blade scredriver & start at a corner & gently pry the panel away from the dash. once that is off there r only a couple screws that hold the switch in place. removed the switch, removed the connector. the new switch may not have come with the knob in this case turn the old switch around & u will see a small ''button'' with a spring under it, push the button down & pull the knob out of the old switch. if u look at the rod the shaft is triangular shaped. just match up the sides in the new switch & push it in. reinnstall everything & you're good to go
