l have about 92k all interstate mileage and the second gear is slipping.l have not pulled or hauled anything so l do not understand why this would be happening.

Dodge has always had transmission problems. My uncle loves his (all 30 he is owned in his life), but tranny problems are expected. Even if you do not pull stuff, the cummins still puts a lot of power and torque through the transmission, which will wear on it even with mostly street driving.

This is a weak link in this truck. l managed 115k out of mine with lots of towing. l flushed fluid every 30k and have a deep pan. l replaced it with a BD transmission and converter along with a remote filter and Royal Purple fluid. l expect to get 200k out of this one with regular fluid changes.

usually u do not have too many problem with a diesel engine transmissions,but some did give problems,you might try changing the fluid & filter in it & see if that helps it any,it might be a good idea to also let a transmission shop test drive it & get hands on opinion on they it might be doing this,dodge has had transmission problems from almost everything they have built in the past ten years,if they ever get past these problem their sales will be a lot better,you should not be experiencing problems with that one & it with so little miles on it,have a shop check it & get their opinion on it,it could be electrical problems causing this too happen,good luck.
