Today, while driving home from work, my truck stalled.l thought it was just out of gas, because sometimes my gas needle plays tricks on me.AAA came out and gassed it up, but it would not start.The starter would turn slowly, but it would just put out smoke and would not start.They thought it was my battery, so they boosted it off, but it still would not crank.

Over the past couple of weeks, l did noticed that it starting cranking slowly, like my battery was dying, but l know that is not the case because the battery is only two months old.

Does any one out there have any suggestions?(Dodge Man, help!)

Get the alternator tested, to see if its putting out the voltage, and amps to help recharge the battery. If that is fine, then pull the starter and get it tested then. One of these 2 is more and likely the problem. Good luck.

make sure they did not give you diesel

usually when u see smoke coming from one like that its the starter drawing too many amps from the battery & it makes it appear that the battery is bad on it if u can get it to a parts store like auto zone or advance they can check both the starter & the alternator along with the battery without u having to pull either of them off,they can do all this & possibly save u from pulling a lot of parts off of it,that would save u some time & money ,id think on that one from the way u described it doing that the starter may be going bad on it,colder weather seems to bring out the worst in a starter,i got to replace mine also this morning it dragged like the battery was down on it & its only about a year old & l tested it & its drawing way to many amps to try & start the truck,good luck.
