l ask because I am hoping l might have missed a cheaper cause for this problem. The truck is a 99 Dodge Dakota 4x4 318 Magnum with 65k miles. It showed no engine problems with the exception that it was leaking 1.5 quarts of oil per 250 miles with no real apparent oil leakage or burning. In fact, despite the radiator being full of oil it does seem to run fine. The oil dipstick did not look foamyat all. Here is the kicker, l just bought this trucklast month.

Is possible that the oil cooler is leaking into the radiator. l heard some oil coolers are attached in conjunction with the lower radiator hose, and near the oil filter mounting. Hope that helps.

sounds like your stuck with a big dollar repair but anything can be fixed just takes longer and cost more.
