My grandfather is going to give me his 2005 SE that he used. Its a 5 speed. what do you like about yours?

Hmm l just posted a question on a neon. l hope you have good luck with yours. You probably will if it was taken care of, l am not so lucky l drive the 2002 beater neon from hell. Their isnt a day l do not wanna smash it. lol Your experience will be better though they prolly worked out the kinks by 2005.

l absolutly hate them. but im currently doin an srt swap into a 98 neon..ironic huh. but they are good cars if u take care of them

They are excellent cars that are easy to maintain, cheap to maintain, and are easy on gas. If they are well maintained they will last a long time, but they do not take kindly to abuse.

l own a 2002 model with 200 thousand miles on it and l love it, the gas mileage is good and it goes when l turn the key that is all that counts,and for 400 bucks l could not go wrong on buying it,you,ll like it but keep up with the maintenance on it or it will give out on you,their good vehicles if you take care fo them,if not they will fall apart ,good luck.

One of my vehicles is a '97 Neon ( DOHC, 5 speed ). It only has just over 120K on the clock but it still drives very well. Aside from routine maintenance, I've only had to replace the alternator, one rear strut, the rear strut mounts, and the front lower control arm bushings. The infamous head gasket problems on the early Neons reared its head twice on my car but it was looked after both times under warranty. Not bad at all for an almost 12 year old economy car.
