Okay, my neighbor says that he can beat my Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi quad-cab in a 1/4 and 1/8 mile race against his 2007 Toyota Tundra Crew-Max with a 5.7L iForce.Both trucks are completely stock except for a flowmaster exhaust on my Dodge Ram.Which truck has the advantage if both drivers have the same talent and driving skills?

The Tundra will win hands down. Also the Tundra is better in every way. l should have bought the Tundra.

You neighbour is right, the Toyota Tundra will be faster than the Dodge Ram 1500 on the 1/4 mile. l am not sure about the 1/8 mile though, the Dodge Ram accelerates faster from 0-60 mph & the Tundra might not catch up. BUT.

Trucks r used to carry out arduous tasks, which require lots of power & strength. Racing trucks is pointless, unless it is modified for that purpose. However, even though the Ram accelerates faster, the Tundra will finish ahead by over 2 seconds.

Japanese trucks r lightweight & therefore can be powered by a smaller (6 cylinder) engine that is more fuel efficient, but people who buy trucks usually need it to be powerful to do more work. The light weight components make the truck more fragile, which means it will break down sooner. Why do u think Nissan asked Dodge to build its full-sized pick up, the Nissan Titan. Its just plain stronger. So ur neighbour can argue all he wants, japanese trucks r just not as powerful & r useless in the real world. They just dont have the towing capacity american trucks have.

Besides, if he wants to compare full size pickups, why not match the full-sized tundra against a Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Cummins. In all my life, l have never seen one that has broken down, & at the dealership/garage where l work, they have never opened the engine or transmission in a 3500 cummins before

Why doesnt he compare his tundra to the 6.7L V-6 turbo diesel engine which produces 305 hp & 610 lb-ft of torque?

Toyota trucks r just not strong & durable, thats it thats all.

go to youtube and watch the videos, tundra is a stronger truck. l just bought an 08 ram 5.7 hemi and was wonderin the same thing. l got my answer after watchin the ram get smoked repeatedly. sorry

yes l towed a nissan murano 2003 my aunts car it broke down when l acked out of thedrive way & started driving up a steep hill the frame were thetoe hitch is connected just bent outward & caused so much presure to the point the whole intire tow hitch detached its self certain parts of the frame on the new 2009 tundra is not all that durable all in all ive towed stuff with a rental 2008 dodge ram 1500 & it tows stuff very well never had a problem the 5.7 liter hemi is built to tow stuff

why race trucks unless they r modified to do so. the problem with toyota tundras r toyota built them to only be fast thats all its not that durable & probably will not outlast a dodge ram. the dodge ram is made to pull not be fast yes a tundra will beat a dodge on a drag but in the real world of trucks a dodge will always own a tundra. the only good thing about a tundra is that it matches the towing capacity of a american truck but will not last very long as yrs go by they will probably start breaking down
